Resource Institute periodically solicits bids from qualified contractors for stream restoration, floodplain restoration, watershed improvement, and related construction projects throughout North Carolina.

Current bidding opportunities are listed below. Each Invitation to Bid includes the project scope, schedule, bid instructions, and any contractor qualifications or licensing requirements specific to that project.

Contractor Qualifications

Contractor qualifications vary by project. Individual Invitations to Bid will identify the experience, licenses, certifications, bonding, insurance, and other requirements applicable to that solicitation.

Resource Institute encourages qualified contractors with experience in stream restoration, grading, excavation, and related environmental construction to review and respond to future bidding opportunities.

Following the completion of the Nantahala Project, the team established a riparian buffer by planting 5,639 live stakes and 979 trees. These plants are expected to sequester over 50 tons of carbon in the coming years.

At UT Ararat, the project partners implemented a restoration design with a combination of structures, including log veins, root wads, and plantings, all working together to stabilize the streambank. These structures and vegetation reduce sediment by 13.8 tons, promoting a healthier ecosystem.
